For the past five years, Dan Hanson, an Anoka-Hennepin School District 11 employee, has coordinated a vigil on the Highway 10-Main Street bridge in Coon Rapids from sunrise to sunset on the anniversary of the Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. Participation has grown each year and an American Red Cross blood drive in the nearby Lowe’s parking lot was added a couple of years ago.
