Live at the Library will feature traditional Mexican songs performed by musicians La Familia Torrez-Peña at Northtown Library Saturday, Oct. 6, 2 p.m.
This program is free and open to the public, but seating may be limited.
La Familia Torrez-Peña comprises Pedro Torrez, Donna Peña and their two adult children, Laura and Hondo, who play a varied program of old Mexican traditional songs, along with songs taken from Mexican pop and music halls, and adaptations of American pop and Irish music.
“Music is meant to be shared,” said Anoka County Library Board Vice President Cathy Montain.
“Enjoy the show with your family and be inspired to explore your own musical roots.”
La Familia Torrez-Peña is presented by Grassroots Culture and the Anoka County Library in partnership with MELSA (Metropolitan Library Service Agency) and this program is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
“Now more than ever, libraries bring people together,” said Anoka County Commissioner Robyn West.
“This is another great community program bringing our libraries to life!”
Northtown Library is located at 717 County Road 10 N.E. in Blaine.
