Crosstown and Hanson is slated to receive some changes in Andover if current council votes stay steady. On April 2, the Andover City Council voted 3-1 to approve a Planned Unit Development request for a senior living facility in the southeast corner of the intersection.

“At this point, I’m supportive,” Andover Mayor Sherri Bukkila said. “I wasn’t at the beginning, at all, just to be completely honest. I wanted to preserve the area for commercial use, my entire tenure I’ve been told by residents that we need more commercial and restaurants, anything but residential. And we held on to (that area) for a long time. … I understand that some of you may want us to do absolutely nothing, and short of buying it to preserve it, something is going to happen.”
