Anoka is taking action to preserve one of the city’s — if not the state’s — most valuable historical assets. On April 1, the City Council voted to proceed with plans for the Rum River Woodbury House Riverbank Stabilization Project.

The project will include work on over 300 feet of failing bank along the Woodbury property. The Woodbury House lies at 1632 S Ferry St. in Anoka and is home to the Mad Hatter Tea House. A historic stone path and bridge will also be relocated as a part of the stabilization efforts.
