Mathisen

School Resource Officer Jon Mathisen works on the first day of the 2023-24 school year. Due to a legislative change, SROs were pulled from most Anoka-Hennepin School District buildings close to the start of the school year. With new legislative clarifications, SROs are working once again in AHSD facilities.

Following a legal clarification regarding use of force that was signed into law by Gov. Tim Walz on March 14, school resource officers are starting once again to patrol the halls at Anoka-Hennepin School District’s buildings.

Tim Fornier, AHSD manager of security and emergency operations, along with AHSD Chief Operations Officer Greg Cole gave an update on the school resource officer program during the board’s March 25 meeting.
