Anoka City Council Member Erik Skogquist addresses the crowd at Riverfront Memorial Park during the opening of last year's social district.

Anoka’s Social District is growing, and so is the number of businesses visitors will be able to sip and stroll from. Following a vote to increase the boundaries of the Social District to the south side of Main Street, eight businesses applied for a Social District License. They were approved in the consent agenda of the April 15 Anoka City Council meeting.

Returning from last year, 10K Brewing, 201 Tavern & Grill, Ambi Wine Bar, Casa Rio, Danno’s Ibiza West, and MaGillycuddy’s have received Social District licensure for the second year. A Social District license costs $25, as is contingent on already having a liquor license.
