Selbitschka named Breakdown Player of the Year

North Branch senior volleyball star Cianna Selbitschka was named the Breakdown Sports 2019 Player of the Year, the organization announced on Dec. 11. The University of Minnesota, Duluth signee needs no introduction to local fans: In her time as the offensive leader of the team, the Vikings have made it to the Class AA state championship game three years in a row, winning once (2018) and finishing as state runner-up twice (2017, 2019). Selbitschka was also named Class AA Player of the Year, an honor she had previously won in 2018. Winners in the other classes were, Class AAA, Kennedi Orr (Eagan), and Class A, Olivia Tjernagel (Mayer Lutheran).Submitted photo
