Education Minnesota Saint Francis members and supporters rallied outside of Saint Francis Area Schools District Offices on March 11 to raise awareness for ongoing negotiations and an upcoming March 18 strike vote.
After a teachers rally and intent to vote on a strike was announced during a school board work session on March 11, the St. Francis Area School District and Education Minnesota St. Francis Teachers Union issued a joint statement on the morning on March 15 announcing they had reached a tentative agreement.
“This agreement represents a collaborative effort between both parties to address the needs of our students, teachers, and the community as a whole,” according to the the statement, signed by Superintendent Karsten Anderson and EMSF President Ryan Fiereck. “The tentative agreement reflects our shared commitment to providing a supportive and conducive learning environment for all students, while also recognizing the dedication and hard work of our educators.”
